Center for Applied Genomics of the Public Health Research Institute

The Center for Applied Genomics (CAG) at the International Center for Public Health (ICPH) is devoted to research in biology and medicine using novel functional genomic approaches. The primary focus of the Center is the application and further development of DNA microarray technology, distinguished by a focused, technology-driven research and development program to advance this field.

New Jersey Medical School

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), the state's university of the health sciences, is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in: the undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and continuing education of health professionals and scientists; the conduct of biomedical, psychosocial, clinical and public health research; health promotion, disease prevention and the delivery of health care; and service to our communities and the entire state. Providing educational, research and service programs at campuses in Camden, New Brunswick/Piscataway, Newark, Scotch Plains and Stratford, in communities throughout the state, and nationally and internationally through advanced communication and information technologies, UMDNJ seeks to meet the needs of our diverse constituencies and improve the health and quality of life of the citizens of New Jersey and society at large.

Coriell Institute for Medical Research

The Coriell Institute for Medical Research is an internationally-known not-for-profit, basic biomedical research institution. In the late 1940's, the Institute's founder, Lewis L. Coriell, M.D., Ph.D., played a major role in bringing the Salk polio vaccine to the public by using cell cultures to study human viral diseases. Impressed with Dr. Coriell's work, local business leaders helped him to establish a basic research facility in 1953. Recently, the Institute-established Breast Cancer Research Resource, and the Coriell Cell Repositories were instrumental in the isolation of the genes responsible for early-onset Alzheimer Disease and ataxia telangiectasia (AT). Coriell scientists are developing new cancer therapeutic agents and working to understand how cells regulate their growth.

NJSCREF

The New Jersey Stem Cell Research and Education Foundation, Inc. (NJSCREF) was founded in 2004 with the mission of promoting broad-based education and goal-directed research, development and delivery of stem cell-based healing, healthcare and humanitarianism. NJSCREF was formed to raise funds principally from private sector donors for the purpose of directing investments to educational, research, preclinical and clinical projects aligned to the Foundation's mission.
